I found this photo with yellow & blue color on my family saved folder. This photo was taken last Oct. 21 2009 birthday of my grandma, i think she is 80+, sitting in the middle. Sadly grandpa died already. How i've missed so much not presenton on this occasion, as i know how happy being together with the whole family, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, seeing this photo shed me a little tear, for so long, it's the first time all the brothers and sister gather together on grandma's birthday, some Aunt's and Uncle's dont live very close with each other, but on this day some travel inter-state to be with grandma and an uncle who work overseas had his holiday.
My mom was on the right corner. All together they are 18 brothers and sisters in the family, 3 died as what i've remember and the rest i think died when i was still little, i don't see them. I have lots of cousins, some we are just same age of mine and classmate since kindie until high school. We have a happy and close family bonding. We celebrate every occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, christmas and new year especially, as our family reunion. But many years ago, it's not the same as before, some cousin work overseas like me. Lucky because of the technology, internet world, gather us together and still continue keeping in touch through facebook I miss those occasion when it comes, as im far away from them now, but the day is getting closer, i can met them soon again for more than 2 years, our holiday is coming this May.
Rivera is a common Hispanic name bestowed on a person who lived in a riverbank.
The Rivera surname can be tracked on Gonzalo Lopez de Rivera, Lord of the Castle of Rivera in Galicia in 1200's. Some sources, however, claims that Rivera's are direct descendants of Sancho Belloso, natural-born son of King Leon, Ramiro III, that the name dates back to ancient Roman times.
