Souvenirs/Gifts

When we are about to come back to Australia from our holiday in the Philippines last June we are a bit of worried what present to give to some of our friends back in Adelaide. But on the last day we really provided and found some souvenirs for my girl friends a personalized key chain, shirts, fashion earrings and to my hubby’s friend were bonnet and cigars like a macanudo type, they will like it as they smoke like a train and now they will receive an imported smoke. Good on them, we are able to think of that kind of present that they will really appreciate.

Expected guest on the driveway

I have a few friends but they hardly visit at home, only me was the who loves visiting them.  My hubby don’t have more friends either, only two who likes to visit the house every other time, one who has scooter and the other one had a car, the one that likes visiting us without notice that really don't bother us sometimes but it would be nice also if he can give my hubby a call first before coming. We don’t really always expect visitor coming at home besides them only as usual the father in-law that daily comes at home to feed the chicken and water the vegetable garden on day time on other side of backyard.


During night time if someone pull over in the front of house we already guess or expect it’s the other friend. It’s like we have only driveway alarm that warn us if someone pulls over the driveway. Our hearing is just sensitive to hear that he is the one visiting us. Sometimes if I heard his footsteps and he starts to knock the door I pretend no one is around and jokingly don't open him. I hope there is no other stranger that will pull over and do harmful things to us beside him.

Voting Station

Last August 21, 2010 was the election day in Australia for Prime Minister, my hubby almost forgot to vote that day, when I got home from work I've reminded him if he vote already but he didn't yet. I told him I want to go to observe and to witness how the election is going. It's very different compare to our my own country, very quiet and peaceful, no rush, no crowds and no waiting for an hour or two, I like the way it was organized.  I even had the chance to get inside the voting room and watch my hubby and some people voting. It was really strange to me but it was good. And one thing if a citizen failed to vote on election they'll get I think a $200 fine unless you write or inform that you will be absent for voting.

My Curiosity

 There is a shop down the road near our place there is a costume shops that I haven’t been entered since I was here to think I’m just very close. Maybe because I thought before it’s an adult shop but it’s a party costumes shop. One time I like to stop by and have a look inside because I always saw beautiful display in the shop window of different characters or impersonation costumes. But I was thinking I won’t buy any so I don’t need to get inside, but really one day even I’m not buying or not I’ll go there to satisfy my curiosity and maybe one day a friend will invite me to go for a party costume and I know where to get.


This afternoon when we have passed the shop again, I saw they have new display on the window. The Halloween costumes was very interesting and a nice attraction especially the kids costume it’s also for any age, I suddenly remember All Saints Day it’s not too far and soon its coming.

Giving Up My All to be with Him

The year 2006 was the big event of my life making a serious decision for my future. After two years of a long distance relationship with my hubby now it comes up to a real commitment and my decision to give up my work, leave my family, friends and other stuff to marry the man I love and settle here in Australia. The end month of February 2006 was the day I had resigned to my job and go back to my province to spend time with my family. Without no job after resigning, I was thinking and planning what alternative source of income I can do while staying in the province. I don’t think or like to apply for a job for a short time there because I’m still leaving soon. So what I did was make fun stuff business learning and making fancy fashion design jewelries. Before leaving in Manila I make sure I have all the complete materials and jewelry making tools to bring to the province. I’m glad I did it, I become creative and like experimenting styles and design look of the jewelries especially the bling bling style of earings that girls love it. That's my fun life in the province while also helping a little chicken shop business of my parents, I have wonderful time spending quality moments with friends and my family especially my parents before leaving my country.

Now almost turning 3 years of my stay in Australia and I'm becoming more independent, matured, adjusting the lifestyles and cultural differences and most of that very much stronger on the trials that I've encountered in my life here.
